Storms cause plane diversions in Malaga

Planes have been diverted from Malaga airport and left hundreds of passengers affected.

Ten flights from across Europe were forced to divert to Sevilla and Granada airports after storms hit the Costa del Sol.

The electrical storms meant that the diverted planes were grounded for several hours until there was a window of opportunity for them to complete their journey to Malaga.

Planes from the UK, France, Holland and Sweden were among those diverted.

Travellers have been warned to check their flights for any delays.
