House of Thallo: A Blooming Vision for Mediterranean Interiors

House of Thallo is reimagining interiors along the Costa Blanca — offering curated, in-stock furniture and home accessories that bring soul, substance, and style to Mediterranean homes.

Based in Jávea, the brand answers a clear gap in the local market: the need for beautiful, design-forward furniture that’s available without long wait times. With a showroom that blends earthy textures, global influences, and timeless craftsmanship, House of Thallo is built around two key promises — instant availability and thoughtful, soulful design. From Japandi and Greige to vintage statement pieces, everything is ready to take home the moment you fall in love with it.

“We launched House of Thallo with a vision to address a gap in Jávea and Spain’s furniture market,” the team shares. “We wanted to offer a diverse range of styles within the Mediterranean mood — and make it all available from stock.”

On the Founders

The idea for House of Thallo was born from a shared frustration — and a powerful combination of vision, creativity, and business insight. When Lichelle and Justin moved to Jávea and began furnishing their home, they were surprised by how limited the local interiors market felt. “While there were plenty of interior stores in the area, many seemed to offer the same aesthetic — safe, repetitive, and lacking the soul we were looking for,” they said. Accustomed to the broader, more dynamic design scene in the Netherlands, they ended up sourcing much of their furniture from abroad.

That gap in the market sparked a conversation and a collaboration. Justin had been working with Pottery Pots, the global design brand co-founded by his partner Tycho, which specialises in importing garden containers from Asia and exhibiting at leading international trade shows. While traveling for the business, Justin began to discover furniture pieces that captured the warmth and texture of Mediterranean living. “That’s where the vision for House of Thallo really started to form,” he explained. “I saw the kind of furniture that would perfectly suit Jávea’s relaxed, nature-inspired lifestyle.”

Tycho, with his strong background in sourcing, logistics, and international trade, became an invaluable guide in turning the idea into a real business. Though not involved in day-to-day operations, he serves as a strategic mentor and business consultant, helping steer big decisions and long-term direction. “Tycho brings the business brain and structure,” Justin shared. “His experience gave us the confidence to build something lasting.”

Lichelle, as a co-founder, bringing her background in sales, marketing, and international business. Fluent in four languages and deeply connected to the community, she helped shape the brand identity and customer experience, creating a showroom that speaks to both locals and international homeowners.

Together, the trio behind House of Thallo combined personal insight, creative passion, and proven industry knowledge, creating a brand that offers soulful design with practicality, warmth, and service at its core.

Interiors That Evolve with the Seasons

The brand’s name draws from Thallo, the Greek goddess of blooming plants and new growth, which is a symbol of continuous renewal. That concept is deeply woven into the House of Thallo experience. “We see interiors not as fixed or static, but as living, breathing environments that evolve just like the seasons,” they said.

Their Jávea showroom is constantly restyled and refreshed. “Every visit offers a fresh experience — we want our clients to feel inspired each time they step inside.”

The brand also stocks collections from like-minded labels such as dBodhi, known for its reclaimed teak furniture and artisanal production. Vintage finds are another hallmark: “Many people are hesitant about vintage, but we show how these pieces can bring depth, character, and soul to modern homes.”

Clients are invited to browse at their own pace, perhaps with a coffee or cava in hand. “It’s more than a shopping experience — it’s a relationship.”

A Need for Speed and Style

Along Spain’s coast, the property market moves quickly — and new homeowners are often eager to furnish their spaces without delay. But according to Lichelle and Justin, the interiors industry hasn’t kept pace. “Many stores have long lead times or limited stock, and their collections often lack originality or evolve too slowly,” they said.

That’s where House of Thallo sets itself apart. “Our concept is built around immediacy and inspiration,” they explained. “What you see in our showroom is carefully curated — and our ambition is that it’s available from stock.” From beds and dining tables to accent chairs and outdoor pieces, the goal is to offer a complete lifestyle solution, ready when clients need it.

Unlike traditional stores, where displays stay static for months, House of Thallo keeps the space fluid. “We constantly refresh the showroom to keep the experience dynamic and exciting. It’s about helping clients reimagine how a space can feel,” they added.

As a young brand just six months in, they’re still discovering what resonates most. “While we can’t yet guarantee next-day delivery for everything, we’re moving quickly toward that goal — learning what clients love and responding in real time.”

The New Mediterranean Aesthetic

So what defines the House of Thallo style? “We call it the New Mediterranean,” they said. “Natural textures, earthy tones, warm woods, and sculptural forms — curated in a way that feels fresh, refined, and deeply soulful.” The brand plays with a consistent material palette — particularly light oak, reclaimed teak, and darker oak — showing customers how to mix them in unexpected but harmonious ways.

Sustainability is a key value. “It’s reflected in the materials we choose, the timelessness of our designs, and the respect we have for craftsmanship,” said Lichelle. By combining new pieces with vintage treasures, they show that “beauty doesn’t have to be brand new — it just has to be meaningful.”

A Blooming Interior, Always in Season

As for interior trends, the team is excited by what’s to come. “We’re thrilled to see the return of darker woods,” said Justin. “There’s a renewed appreciation for richness, depth, and sophistication.” Clients are also embracing organic shapes, raw materials, and global influences, from African sculpture to Portuguese ceramics and Asian reclaimed wood.

Their goal is simple yet impactful: “We aim to translate those trends into spaces that feel not just beautiful, but meaningful — and that’s what makes what we do so fulfilling.”
