The cuisine of the Costa Blanca is well known for its variation and beautiful Mediterranean dishes and as such we here at Spain Life Exclusive are often invited along to visit the best restaurants in the area and we were excited by our latest visit to the excellent Casa Toni in Moraira.
The restaurant with its vast car park and lovely roman sculptures adoring its landscape is extremely inviting as soon as you arrive and due to the lovely sunshine here in the Costa Blanca we were able to sit in the nice courtyard adorning the main restaurant with lots of other diners to be served what turned out to be a wonderful culinary experience. The setting in Casa Toni is wonderful with the Roman style pillars and cascading waterfalls it makes it a relaxing and enjoyable experience to sit and dine in such a lovely outdoor environment.
We took our seats to be given a menu that is not to large but certainly varied and has many options for any person who wants to vary their choices and the menu of the day was just to good to not take up and so we both selected this as the price for the day only €21 each was exemplary for what we were about to be served.
We selected a nice Vino Blanco which Casa Toni have delivered alongside there vast array of quality wines and this was CAMPUSTAURI which had a lovely elegant taste to go alongside the food.
The starter course was preceded with nice warm bread and alioli which was hand made and then my partner had the excellent Avocado with Prawns which were succulent and very fresh whilst I dined on the unusual and very tasty Cheese fig bundle which was sweet with its sauce and wonderful in taste. This was followed by a nice sorbet to cleanse the pallet in between also.
Following this we then had the wonderfully presented Pork Sirloin in mushroom sauce and the Duck Maigret with what was my favourite Mango cream sauce.
This proved to be a culinary delight as the sauces blended with the meat superbly and its unique taste made you want to come back for more there and then it truly is a excellent combination of food.
Whilst we then took a break between courses the service from Toni himself and his staff was excellent and their experience shone through as some of the staff have known Toni from their young days in Italy and they still work together now and this is shown in the way they interact with their diners and provide a first class environment to dine in.
They have great knowledge of food and wines and can advise you on many items to make your day even more enjoyable … the sun kept shining and there were families there able to also sit and relax with their children due the attentive nature of the staff and Toni himself.
We then proceeded to order the desserts and were even more impressed at the quality of the choice and also the lovely tastes they had , as I was served with an impressive Apple strudel with yoghurt and rasperries ice cream which I have to say was one of the best strudels I have ever tasted.
My partner had the Crêpe with fruits of the forest and again this was beautifully presented and proved to be a perfect taste all round.
Therefore after eating such a wonderful three course meal we also spoke with other diners there who had eaten fish dishes and other courses from the menu and everyone stated how delighted they were and would be coming again.
Overall Casa Toni is a culinary delight. It has a fantastic Mediterranean varied menu, an exceptional menu of the day experience if you wish to try that, and its wine list is second to none…. (take a look at their wine cellar just inside the restaurant it houses a huge variety of quality wines) and with the setting of the outside courtyard shielded by large umbrellas and vast dining tables it makes for a enjoyable experience all round and one we would recommend you take up as soon as possible.
