This weekend started the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. It is the main technological event of the year, now at its thirteenth edition in the Catalan capital. The main focus will be on the great technological challenges, and their relationship with the mobile telephony.
The technological fair, which officially takes place from February 29 to March 1, although some of the main presentations are already made, will bring together 2,300 companies and more than 100,000 attendees, most of them professionals in the sector. The conferences or keynotes will debate on topics as the fourth industrial revolution, the Internet of Things, the development of the fifth generation of the mobile (5G) or the blockchain. Although what will most attract the attention of the public will be the parade of the major mobile brands, like Samsung which takes advantage of Barcelona for its big launch of the year, the Galaxy S9 and its plus version. Or like Spanish brand Telefónica that will finally present Aura, its virtual assistant of the so-called fourth platform. The operator promised in the MWC17 that in a year would have ready this “cognitive engine endowed with artificial intelligence” which will allow each customer to have control of their data and decide what to do with that information in the era of big data.
The organisers say that “this year for Mobile World Congress, we have developed 8 core event themes to assist you with finding the content that is most relevant to your industries, your interests, and your future visions. You can use these themes to sort through the agenda and build your journey around targeted event content.” Read more on the website of the event:
