Vespa’s: A True Gem of the Costa Blanca and the Pleasure of Italian Cuisine

The first thing you notice when searching for an exclusive Italian restaurant is the charming atmosphere both inside and out, as it is carefully designed with excellent tables to eat at and a peculiar and detailed decoration on its walls. The outdoor terrace overlooks Moraira beach, so whatever you decide to eat inside or out, it will be a wonderful gastronomic experience without a doubt.

In Vespa’s the small details in every corner make a difference, such as the fresh flowers placed at each table which, added to Valeria’s smile and warmth, make the place charming.

My wife and I took a table by the window to get the best of both worlds: the view and the atmosphere. Valeria immediately helped us with her advice on wines and cuisine.

After looking at the varied and interesting menu, we decided to order different starters and main courses, and of course Valeria was there to offer us some good advice on the wine. We decided on a bottle of Pinot Grigio rosé which perfectly complemented the food. The experience was exceptional.


My wife Karen was seduced by the salmon carpaccio with smoked ricotta, which was freshly sliced finely with the ricotta and herbs. This turned out perfect as it was a light dish with a pleasant and subtle flavor. I opted for the capresse salad with buffalo mozzarella and it was excellent. The mozzarella was wonderful and the olive oil perfectly complemented the salad, making it extremely tasty.

After a while we were just chatting and enjoying the pleasant Pinot Grigio, when Valeria appeared with what she commented was her specialty: Foccacia bread with black olives, basil and olive oil. This explosion of flavors was magnificent as the bread was freshly baked and light so as not to fill up too much. It was so delicious that we saved some to take away because we didn’t want to waste anything.

Typical of Valeria… she was busy but still wanted us to try other dishes. We will bring our older children here as this is perfect for them, who love Italian food and Vespas is exceptional.


There is such a wide choice of dishes on the menu and if you like pizza there is over 13 different types to choose from and so it made our choices difficult.

However again after taking advice from Valeria we decided on one fish dish and one meat one and so my wife chose the Sea Bass which was sauteed and i myself went for the Beef entrecote so we could try a part of each others as well as both of them looked amazing.

The sea bass was complimented with a white wine sauce and cherry tomatoes with crispy vegetables cooked to perfection. The meats and products used by the chef are of the highest quality.

It had a lovely presentation and was extremely tasty as my wife said it was truly one of the best sea bass she has ever tasted in the Costa Blanca and to  be honest it is one of her favourite dishes and she has had many but this one was one of the best.

The Beef entrecote i had made medium and it was right on point and was served with again cherry tomatoes -garlic- basil and all that mixture of tastes was perfectly blended.

The Pinot Grigio was the best choice for this dish, so we were happy to have chosen two different types of food. Overall, the dishes were ideal and cooked to our liking, which is why we can’t help but recommend them. You won’t regret it!


The desserts were also delicious in texture and flavor. We stayed with the Vespa’s Cheesecake (wow, amazing!) and their well-thought out Tiramisu for the diners and, again, they exceeded our expectations, since most Italian restaurants make Tiramisu, but this one was atypical. It was large in size, light on the top and delicious inside.

The restaurant currently opens from 7 pm to 10 pm to serve at night and from 12 noon to 4 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Overall it’s a food experience that has to be tried, even more so if you like Italian food, because then Vespas is the right place for you to come always.
