In the first half of 2017, inbound tourists have brought a total of €37.22 billion to Spain.
This figure, according to the Tourist Spending Survey by the National Statistics Institute is a 14.8% rise from last year. The UK, is the top spender bringing in 20.3% of the total to Spain.
On average each tourists spends €1,065 whilst they are in the country. Certain areas attracting more than others. Catalonia was found to be the destination with the highest level of spending. This was followed by the popular Canary islands.
This comes as good news to the country as the numbers of tourist spending is expected to continue to rise across the summer.
