Spanish police have detained migrants found in fairground lorries

19 North African migrants found hiding in fairground lorries at a funfair in the Spanish enclave of Cueta have been detained by police.

The migrants were found among bumper cars and a ghost train by sniffer dogs and police with thermal imaging equipment. They were waiting to board a ferry to mainland Spain.

It has been reported that among the migrants there was nine children.

Ceuta and Melilla – both small Spanish territories in North Africa – have become magnets for African migrants hoping to reach Spain.

This comes days after 187 migrants out of a crowd of about 300 managed to get into Ceuta.
