Now Denia has something really special as we visit the Moroccan restaurant that is Reina Mora.

REINA MORA REVIEW
On your first inspection as you enter the lovely warm atmosphere of Reina Mora is the colourful walls decorated with murals tastefully done reflecting the area of Morocco and its cuisines.

The décor all round has beautiful arches in decorative colours of blue which are all very tastefully put together. The trinkets of tea pots -dishes and all Moroccan items makes it a lovely setting and gets you in the mood for what Is to be a lovely experience.

You are welcomed by Laila the owner who with her lovely demeanour and smile makes you feel at ease as soon as you enter and we were shown to a nice table in the courtyard at the back where you can sit outside with the weather still being hot in Denia under a nice awning adorning the courtyard and in a lovely setting.

There are lovely tables taking in the excellent décor inside but on a lovely warm day like this in October it was perfect and there is around six tables in the courtyard so families and guests were able to enjoy their meals in comfort as one family had a new baby and there was no problems for them to enjoy their meal whilst tending to the baby also as Laila and her team make it a lovely friendly atmosphere.
We first of all chose a nice house White wine which was a Rioja and this proved to be a good choice as it complemented the food perfectly.
As we had not a great knowledge of Moroccan cuisine we did ask for recommendations and in the end as we saw some wonderful dishes coming out serving the guests, we decided to choose two different starters; the ZAHLOUVKA which is roasted aubergines sautéed with tomato and Moroccan spices. This came with lovely toasted bread.

The taste was exquisite and very tasty with a nice texture and the vegetables that come with it give it a nice flavour all round and it was easy to digest with the nice crunchy toast. We opted for the tasty crunchies which are four meats in puff pastry and are easy on the palate such as chicken and pork and with the tomato sauce again prevalent with these we would recommend them.

MAIN COURSES
For the main course we again decided to try something different and wehad on recommendation the Paprike Lamb chops and these came with three delicately cooked chops that were presented lovely and had two excellent sauces with them and these complimented the meat perfectly and again would choose these again it had a lovely taste all around.

Also the Pinchos as these looked interesting and they proved to be just so as they are served as lots of meat with kebab type skewers of pork-beef-chicken etc and the two sauces that come with these are ideal and if you like meat then we recommend this meal.

They came with home made fries and which were nice and crispy and in terms of portion size then you will not be disappointed as it is certainly a excellent meal all round.
DESSERT
Laila decided to serve to us the Arabian style biscuits for dessert that have a compliment of around seven different types of flavours and these served with the Moroccan mint tea is a lovely way to finish off your meal and her choice was a good one we have to say as this is a lovely experience and if you had not tried Moroccan cuisine then we suggest you do as the food is excellent and interesting at the same time as we saw the lovely terrines being served that looked very tasty plus other dishes and all of the customers were very happy and complimentary as they left .

Overall, this is a very nice restaurant and is situated in the middle of Denia in one of the oldest parts which has character and allows the ambience inside and outside to make you feel perfectly into the Moroccan theme and the host Laila with her staff work hard to give you a lovely experience we highly recommend you try it and call Reina Mora today …you will be pleased you did!
