Nestled in Benissa Costa, No 45 at Sea is a standout concept store offering a curated selection of high-end fashion and home décor. We spoke to one of the founders, Hilly, who shared the journey behind creating this unique boutique with her business partner, Danielle.
Fashion Roots and Inspiration
Hilly and Danielle, both with extensive experience in the fashion industry in the Netherlands, met by chance in Spain. Their shared vision led to the creation of No 45 at Sea. “We realized there’s a market here in Spain that appreciates style and home décor,” Hilly explained. With Hilly and Danielle’s background in running multiple concept stores, including Danielle’s as the owner of Circle of Trust in the Netherlands– they knew exactly how to appeal to style-conscious shoppers on the Costa Blanca.
Along with their husbands, who helped with the store’s design and reconstruction, they transformed an old Sabadell bank into a modern, airy boutique. “We removed the ceiling to give it a high, open look, combining industrial tones with a soft, inviting feel.”
Handpicked Brands and Collections
When it comes to selecting brands, Hilly emphasized their careful curation. “Many of the brands overlap with what we have in our stores in Holland,” she said. “We rely on our innate sense to know what will work—it’s something you just feel when you see it.” This approach has helped them bring a mix of contemporary and timeless pieces that align perfectly with the tastes of their clients.
A Unique Shopping Experience
What sets No 45 at Sea apart is its open, welcoming atmosphere, beautifully curated collections, and friendly staff. “The atmosphere here is special, and our collections are too,” Hilly noted. “We’ve created a space where people can feel at home while discovering something unique.”
