This July 14th, Kplats Calpe celebrates a remarkable milestone: four years of flavor, perseverance, and community.

Born in one of the most uncertain times in recent history — during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic — Kplats was not just a gastrobar opening; it was a bold statement of resilience. Today, it stands as a testament to what passion, creativity, and loyal patrons can achieve together.

A Gourmet Beginning Amid Global Uncertainty

While the world paused, Chef César Bejarano Mirabal and his team took a bold leap — opening Kplats on the Avenida Ifach in the heart of Calpe. From the very start, their mission was clear: deliver exceptional Mediterranean and Latin flavoured tapas fusioning overseas cultures and ingredients.

With a compact but inventive kitchen, Kplats introduced dishes that quickly gained a following: bimis in purple corn tempura with curry mayo, smoked aubergine with creamy burrata, and slow-cooked Iberian pork cheek served on corn trilogy. Their tasting menu experience became a highlight, complemented by signature cocktails like their unique spicy Pinche Cabron and fine Spanish wines.

These are not just plates — they’re stories told through flavor. The balance of traditional Spanish roots and bold Latin American influence became Kplats’ hallmark. Their artistic plating, careful sourcing, and warm service transformed a modest space into a destination for food lovers across the Costa Blanca.
