Tarraula’s fabulous team of designers have done it again, out doing even their own exceptional standards in interior design, to create a truly stunning set up at this villa in Jávea. interior design javea
Inspired by the architectural design of the property itself as well as the personal tastes of the owner, the designers have conceptualised an interior layout that is both modern and chic albeit with a touch of eccentricity.
Although much of the furniture itself is quite minimalist and understated, the designers have used materials and colour to add a sense of opulence and set off the overall look. For instance, the plain grey rug, sofa and armchair in the living area, are brought to life with colourful cushions and throws and the metallic finishes of the furniture.
Throughout the property light neutral tones – greys, beiges and creams – are fused with richer, more vibrant colours – blues and greens, allowing the latter shades to stand out and grab the eye. Likewise, a contrast is created by use of different materials and finishes. Older, more natural, materials – like wood – are mixed with more modern metals and leathers – resulting in simple and classic yet rich and modern interiors.
Let’s take a closer look at the results of Tarraula’s creative magic…
Living Area
The soft material sofa and large grey rug make for an inviting, comfortable living area. Yet their natural colours are broken up by the bold, block blues of the cushions and throw. However, the soothing shades of blue used mean the relaxed, snug feel of this area is not lost.
Kitchen
All in all the design here has been kept simple – a refreshing change given the usual clutter that comes with any kitchen area – and a great way to keep a natural small, confined space looking more open and spacious. But some small, subtle details have been added for light decoration. The leather stools with their metallic legs add some character yet keep with the modern, stylish vibe. While the large plant adds some nature and brightness against the mainly grey surrounds.
Dining Area
A light, cream wooden table surface supported by chunky metallic legs, fuses classic and contemporary styles – perfectly summarising the overarching themes of the design.
The quirky metal legs of the chairs are a great way to add some opulence. While the simple accessories – candles laid out in trays – balance out the more eccentric elements – the chairs and modern lighting – helping continue the cosy feel of the main living space and flattering the natural style of the table’s surface.

Master Bedroom
This room, much like the living area, uses rich colour to bring, an otherwise minimalist setting, to life and we once again see leathers and metallic materials adding an element of luxury to the room.
First Bedroom
The dark coloured fur accessories and animal skin style rug make this the most decadent and distinct room of the villa. However, the metallic finishes to the lamps, block style furniture and large padded leather headboard are still in keeping with features seen elsewhere in the house – providing some continuity with the overall design themes.
Second Bedroom
This smaller room, with more modest furniture, still retains some glamour and opulence as a result of the warm, dark colours used and the more distinct lighting feature. While the beautiful, striking cushion prints add some character and an artistic feel.
