Flight prices rise by 25% in last month

Travel search engine, Skyscanner have confirmed that the average price for flights from the UK to Europe have risen by nearly 25% since mid-September.

 

Air fares for last minute trips have seen a price increase of 23% in the past few weeks, after Ryanair began to announce their cancellations.

 

There was even high price increases for some passengers flying to certain destinations in Spain. Last minute flights to Malaga were up by 30 per cent and flights to Alicante also went up by 27%.

 

With thousands of Ryanair and Monarch flights cancelled, the demand for flights has shot up, while customers search for alternative flights. Monarch, who suddenly went bankrupt on Monday have left thousands of customers searching for alternative flights.
