Spring is just around the corner, and every region of the country is celebrating it with original festivals. Here are some of the most important upcoming events for March.
Festival de Jerez
From February 23rd to March 10th, the Festival of Jerez brings together the most famous flamenco artists of Spain to teach and participate stunning stage performances but also courses. The Festival also organises flamenco dance classes for beginners and for seniors.
Sant Medir, Barcelona
On March the 3rd, Sant Medir candy festival, also called the Fiesta de San Emeterio is ‘the sweetest festival’ because of the 60 tons of sweets that are given away every year during the colourful Sant Medir parade. The highlight of Sant Medir in Barcelona is the evening parade in the Gracia part of Barcelona.

The Fallas of Valencia
From March 15th to March 19th, the people of Valencia light up the city to celebrate the coming of Spring. The streets fill up with joy and the hustle and bustle of the Fallas festival, the upmost expression of the merger of tradition, satire and art. The celebration begins on the night of the 15th, where artists work all night to erect large sculptures that will fill the streets and compete for a winning prize. Once a winner is chosen, the artworks are paraded through the city until the last day of the festival in which all of the sculptures go up in flames.
