An extraordinary experience at the Italian restaurant La Casa della Pasta

On a chillier evening in April we had decided as a family to go to the excellent Italian restaurant in Jávea that is La Casa della Pasta. This is the perfect place to go when family visit us as the food, the ambient setting and, above all, the excellent service make it the ideal venue.

Spaghetti con gamberetti. As Italians say: for a good pasta dish you don’t need a lot of ingredients. Olive oil, chilli pepper, garlic, prawns, fresh parsley and fresh grated parmesan cheese.


Due to the weather being a bit colder in the evening but not spoiling the lovely outdoor area that we chose to sit in with other diners, the waiters brought over the perfect outdoor heaters to allow us to be comfortable and enjoy the next two hours of excellent dining. The wine was so good that we ordered it twice. It was a fabulous Sauvignon that has to be tasted at a really special price as has excellent value for money.

Insalata di Stagione. Very popular fresh salad with oak leaf lettuce and rucola, tomatoes, red onion, pine nuts, walnuts and a home-made mustard vinaigrette.


We then proceeded to offer our courses between the four of us and this is what we chose. The starter of steamed mussels in particular were outstanding and the size of the bowl and mussels overall made my daughter wanted to come back the following week as in her words: “I have never had mussels that large and so tasty!”. It is a meal in itself is fabulous all round. The Parma ham and smoke dishes were also of a wonderful taste of different flavours and the nice touches of balsamic vinegar and fresh basil complemented that tastes wonderfully as well.

The main courses of penne and tagliatelle were excellent and again it is the lovely sauces that have fresh ingredients of spinach and sun-dried tomatoes that compliment all your taste buds. No one left anything, it was so delicious!

The night was perfect and my family are all big admirers of La Casa della Pasta now. We will continue to attend there as it is the perfect venue for families and couples and in addition people from all nationalities come to this magnificent restaurant. We ended our evening speaking to a group of six guests from France who also complimented how lovely their meals were and the terrific service that is provided.
