There are plenty of hotels on the Costa Blanca, for all tastes and budgets. Here are some of the attractive ones for a special getaway:
Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain
There are plenty of reasons why so many people choose Costa Blanca as their summer holiday destination. The Costa Blanca is popular with foreigners and Spaniards alike, with a coastline that offers much more than just an endless supply of white sandy beaches and intimate, quiet coves.
With large towns that are widely popular for their vibrant nightlife such as Alicante and Benidorm, there are also delightful small towns famous for their picturesque historic centres such as Altea and Javea.
Costa Blanca is the Perfect City Treat
Traditionally, the coast of the Valencian Community was only known as a sun and sand destination, but more and more people are moving away from conventional weekend getaways in favour of city breaks in the more up-and-coming Costa Blanca cities such as Alicante. Alicante is much more than just beaches, it has museums, historical monuments, a beautiful old town and an intrinsic Valencian culture that is often overlooked.
Alicante has become a cosmopolitan city, full of history and tradition. Ideal for groups of friends and couples looking for a romantic getaway, rent a flat or a quaint townhouse in Alicante’s old town in neighbourhoods such as Santa Cruz or El Barrio for an authentic getaway combining the best of the city and the beach.

Shopping is always popular during city holiday breaks, and the shopping experience in Alicante never disappoints. Don’t miss the stalls on the Paseo Explanada where you’ll find everything from clothes and jewellery to artisan and local products.
Another must-see in Alicante is the Central Market, where you’ll spend hours in the hustle and bustle of this market filled with local vendors selling fresh, top quality food, local produce and handmade goods; ideal souvenirs to take home from your holiday.
Dénia, in the Mediterranean province of Alicante, is undoubtedly one of the best destinations to enjoy during the summer season. The climate in the town of Dénia is simply spectacular, many would say enviable, without a doubt. It is a port city in the Spanish Levante, and there you can enjoy wonderful temperatures.
Of course, the town has a characteristic Mediterranean climate, one of the favourites, offering long, sunny summers and fairly mild winters. In summer, the average temperature is between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius, and in total, Denia enjoys around 3,000 hours of sunshine a year. Therefore, this great climate and temperatures make it one of the best options to go on holiday this summer
The new Purobeach Dénia, on the right coast of the port, is one of the most exclusive beach clubs of the Purobeach brand so far. The one in Dénia will offer the best experience in front of the Mediterranean from its sunbeds and swimming pool, with Puro SPA treatments, signature cocktails, the best music and international gastronomy on offer.

Calpe is one of the most beautiful towns on the Costa Blanca in Alicante, its strategic location in the northern part of the province, and the profile of the town, with the bay and the imposing Rock, discover in this article what to see in Calpe.
Calpe is home to imposing limestone rock that is protected by the Peñón de Ifach Natural Park and is a fascinating visit to get to know the Mediterranean ecosystem and to enjoy the landscapes of this area of Costa Blanca.
The route, which can be started from the port of Calpe itself, will take us to the park’s interpretation area, to continue along a path that will lead us to the tunnel that crosses the other side of the rock to ascend to the summit.
Very close to the town centre and the Peñón de Ifach itself, we find the Salinas de Calpe, an old salt lake, which was once used for salt production.
The area has been made suitable for visits on foot, creating paths and viewpoints around the entire perimeter of the salt lagoon.
A hike up Calpe’s Peñón de Ifach is a must.
As a former fishing village, the port of Calpe was the economic engine of the town years ago. Today, with the town more focused on tourism, the port has been transformed, creating a façade of restaurants specialising in tourists.
In Altea, a sea of white houses and shiny domes is waiting for you by the Mediterranean. Altea is magic, a source of artistic inspiration, history and beauty.
Considered one of the most beautiful towns in the Valencian Community on its own merits, Altea has established itself as an essential destination on Costa Blanca. Between two giants of Alicante’s tourist urbanisation such as Benidorm and Calpe, and also very close to the beautiful beaches of Jávea, the town of Altea has managed to combine sun and beach tourism and cultural tourism to perfection with an enviable charm.
Altea’s old town is a place to get lost and not find yourself. It is a hustle and bustle of slopes, cobbled streets and vertiginous staircases. A marvellous example of what the Mediterranean character was like a long time ago and which, fortunately, has remained almost intact here to this day.
Wander aimlessly, take thousands of photos and enjoy this marvel. But, if you’ll allow me to give you a piece of advice, you can’t miss a stroll through some of the most beautiful streets and squares in the town. Here are my suggestions: carrer Major, carrer Salamanca, carrer de Santa Bárbara, carrer de San Miguel, carrer Bonavista and plaça de L’Aigua.
Altea is renowned for its gorgeous, white-washed houses.
Holidaying in the Costa Blanca
The Costa Blanca is especially distinguished for its unspoilt beaches and rustic coves. Throughout the summer months, thanks to the favourable, calm conditions of the Mediterranean and the diversity of its marine life, this coast attracts a lot of diving, snorkelling, paddle boarding and kayaking enthusiasts.
Moraira boasts some of the most beautiful beaches on this coast, from fine white sandy bays to quiet, hidden coves. Playa del Portet is one of Moraira’s most special beaches, as it is situated in a small bay, embraced by green hills dotted with whitewashed houses. Its turquoise, shallow waters are ideal for families with young children and the setting makes it a romantic beach destination for couples.
Moraira, Spain
For a luxury holiday on Costa Blanca, look to smaller destinations such as Moraira. This quiet, traditional fishing port boasts a quaint centre full of bustling boutiques, restaurants and local bars. Moraira is also famous for its pristine white sandy beaches and stunning, serene coves. The landscape surrounding these bays evokes luxury, with vineyards, pine trees and beautiful hills dotted with whitewashed villas overlooking the Mediterranean.
Jávea is often considered the most charming town in the province, as walking through its old town is to be surrounded by beauty and monuments such as the emblematic church of San Bartolomé. Jávea is also home to one of Spain’s most famous beaches, La Granadella. Here you will find a sense of exclusivity and tranquillity, where you can relax in a secluded cove and have a lunch of fresh fish or paella in one of the three restaurants that are only open during the summer.

Nightlife at the Costa Blanca
The Costa Blanca has two bustling party hot spots – Benidorm and Alicante; two cities that have attracted party-goers from all over the world for years. Every weekend, Benidorm and Alicante become a bustling hub for stag and hen parties and groups of friends enjoying their vibrant party scene.
If nightclubs aren’t your thing, Benidorm Palace has been awarded as the best theatre-style nightclub in Europe. Its shows feature a mix of singers, dancers, live music and acrobats, with the option of dinner to accompany the show.
