Behind the Hidden Doors of Casa Cenote (OMEO Design)

OMEO’s Most Unexpected Creation Yet
There’s something quietly seductive about a home that doesn’t reveal all its secrets at once. Casa Cenote, the latest project from OMEO, leans entirely into this mystique. What began as a complete renovation has emerged as an architectural riddle. With fourteen hidden doors being integrated throughout the house, it transforms the experience of walking through it into something far more cinematic. The bedrooms themselves are tucked behind a single wall, giving the illusion of continuity, only for one door after another to quietly open into private spaces.

OMEO has long been known for shaping spaces that evoke emotion, and Casa Cenote is no exception. Founded by design visionary Olivia O., the studio has become a quiet powerhouse in high-end, intuitive architecture. Each project feels like a signature—elegant, understated, and deeply considered. Olivia’s ability to blend architectural discipline with organic, almost spiritual form has earned OMEO its place among Europe’s most influential design names.

This project stretches the concept of a secret space into something immersive. One of its most extraordinary features lies behind a concealed door that leads not to a closet, nor to a wine cellar, but to a spa carved out like a cenote.

Designed to feel ancient and elemental, the cave spa is an unexpected world of its own. The natural stone finish is textured and cool underfoot. There’s an indoor pool with a jet stream, a dramatic ceiling waterfall, a cold plunge, and a skylight that filters soft daylight into the cavern. Alongside it, you’ll find a sauna, hammam, and a cave-like shower. The contrast between darkness and light, rough and smooth, plays with your sense of place. It feels remote and intentional. A retreat within a retreat.

The Balance Between Raw and Refined
Inside Casa Cenote, textures speak louder than colours. Oak runs deep across the interiors, its grain untouched, grounding the house in nature. It sits beside finer materials, creating an interior language that’s quiet, tactile and slow to date. The spaces don’t rush to impress. They allow you to notice, and then notice again.

Outside, the mood changes slightly, adopting a more tropical tone. There’s white sand laid out like an Andalusian beach, fringed with dense vegetation. Since this property didn’t have any sea views, OMEO created their own personal beach just for this villa!

Outdoor furniture in teak and bamboo leans into a Bali-inspired aesthetic, made for long lunches and longer evenings. The space is equipped with a bar and barbecue area, framed by green and softened by the sound of water nearby. It feels warm and alive, without ever trying too hard.

A Home That Unfolds Slowly
With Andalusian elements woven into its structure and a tropical atmosphere throughout its gardens, it’s a home that sits at the intersection of two worlds. Every element has been considered. Every detail, intentional. This is the kind of place that doesn’t announce itself but lets you appreciate each detail as you take in the space. It’s a house to experience.

For those drawn to this kind of luxury living, OMEO offers more than inspiration. They offer collaboration. Reach out to OMEO and begin the conversation. Your version of home might just be waiting to take shape.
