For either residents, locals or foreigners planning a February trip to Spain, this beach needs to be on your map. And the further away you come from the Mediterranean climate, the more you will enjoy spending your midday on the beach like it were almost summer.
Cozy and quiet, because of the natural environment that surrounds it, the beach of Renegà in Oropesa del Mar (Castellón) is divided into many coves and combines rocky areas with sand. This is a stunning place where the waves of the sea compete with the sounds coming from the pines of the Mediterranean forest – just a few meters from the shore. Sea and mountain come together to form a single one, managing to transport the visitor to a place where only peace and tranquility fit.
Playa de la Renegà is located a few minutes from Benicàssim and Oropesa, in the middle of the tourist area of the province of Castellón, but totally contrary to mass tourism. And is that these gifts as best enjoyed is with a sought loneliness, shunning big crowds. There is no other way to fall in love with her. Otherwise, it would lose its essence. Thus, it is also appreciated that its location is not excessively marked. Only the watchful eye will be able to distinguish a discreet sign in the National 340, shortly before arriving at Oropesa, in which it is mentioned that La Renegà is nearby. A natural space that refuses to be seen by excessive onlookers, with which only the fact of finding it can become part of the adventure to which it invites us.
Playa de la Renegà is right on the Green Way, or Vía Verde del Mar, that runs between the towns of Oropesa del Mar and Benicàssim, running along the old railway line of the train line that bordered the coast of both towns. With a length of about 6 kilometers, it is suitable for both cyclists and pedestrian, and also for people with reduced mobility, as it has a firm paved road and parts with compacted gravel .
