From 11-15th August The famous wine festival (the most important day being 15th August), was originally celebrated to bid farewell to the grape-pickers who were off to bring in the harvest. These days however, poets, artists and writers take part in the festivities, coming together to create/paint a stunning mural in honour of the Noche Del Vino.
There is everything from flamenco performances and exhibitions; and of course, the highlight is the free muscatel wine (in both dry and sweet varieties) offered to everyone. This is also when Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion, the town’s patron saint, is honoured.
