La Perla de Jávea: 3 must-try dishes to enjoy facing the Mediterranean

La Perla de Jávea is a restaurant where every dish is a delight, but today we will recommend you 3 gems that are among the best they offer: grilled fish, rice with sepionets, monkfish and artichokes, and the famous tarte tatín.

  1. GRILLED FISH

Any grilled fish you want to try will be a great choice that won’t disappoint you. The fish at La Perla de Jávea is caught fresh daily! Among them, dentex, sea bass, turbot, John Dory, grouper, kingclip, and bream stand out. They are grilled with a pinch of salt and finished off on the plate with olive oil and crispy garlic.

Walking into the restaurant and hearing the crackling of the fire is the best introduction to this top restaurant facing the Mediterranean. Do you want to experience an impeccable gastronomic experience? Well, La Perla de Jávea is the place. Reserve a table!

2. RICE WITH SEPIONETS, MONKFISH, AND ARTICHOKES

The sepionets are fresh from La Lonja de Jávea, as well as the monkfish. The artichokes are bought at the Jávea Market.

This delicious dish is prepared with fresh and local ingredients, such as Bomba rice from Valencia, a city known for its famous rice fields. It is served with fresh fish broth, also from La Lonja.

To accompany this dish, Sonia and Sergio recommend a white wine. They opt for products from the Alicante DO region.

3. TARTE TATÍN: A DELICACY OF FRENCH ORIGIN

Do you know anything about its origin? The Tatín sisters, hence the name of the tart, ran a hotel in Lamotte-Beuvron, France. This luxurious 19th-century hotel welcomed very wealthy guests.

The story goes that Stéphanie Tatín, one of the sisters, was baking an apple tart and in a distraction, she placed the fruit in the mold, forgetting the base. To avoid wasting it, she covered it with dough and baked it upside down, just as it is known today. Another version indicates that she caramelized the apples and covered them with dough to disguise it.

Whether these are the true roots of the tarte tatín or not, its spectacular taste is undeniable. And at La Perla de Jávea, they have been preparing it since 1984. Of course, they have experience, and it shows because it’s the best tarte tatín you will taste on the Costa Blanca.

If you want to try these three delights while enjoying the beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea, reserve a table at La Perla de Jávea, a must-visit restaurant.
