Shooting in Barcelona

Two police officers have been injured following a shooting in Gava, Catalonia (close to Barcelona).

 

It is said the officers were shot with an AK-47 when they were in their police car. The gunman was arrested shortly after he fled and barricaded himself in a house.

 

 

Police have said that both of the victims are now being taken care of in a hospital in Barcelona, although one is seriously wounded. The attack is said to not be related to terrorism.

 

The police involved in the attack were aged 50 and 62.

 

The shooting happened around 4pm Spanish time, and shortly after there was an armed siege at the home were the suspect was hiding.
