La Casbah: Fusion of Cultures

In the showroom La Casbah, Eastern and Western styles and aestethic go together in a singular, very actual atmosphere. The impressive variety of furniture and decoration is carefully handpicked, by the owners, during their intensive travels around the world, and mixed with contemporary pieces designed by renowned international companies.

The Concept

La Casbah showroom opened in 2003 as a space dedicated to interior design. With the exterior aspect of a Moroccan temple, the showroom hosts generous interior spaces and beautiful gardens, displaying furniture, rugs, lighting and all types of decoration. Many of the pieces are of limited edition, if not unique. The showroom is a fusion of cultures – from Morocco to India or Indonesia – with modern designs, offering a unique decoration style. Manager Said Yousfi explains: “the secret is the decoration: when you enter La Casbah, you feel like you’re at home, because everything is arranged, in all details, like a big home.”

Through mixing the modern with the rustic, the traditional and the vintage, La Casbah created a style of its own – a mix of actual trends and ethnic vibes. “We are in the world of interior design since 2003, Said Yousfi continues. And all this big selection that you see here was purchased, item by item, on our own, personal criteria of style and taste. This is our own manner of decorating.” And, since April 2017, when Yousfi took over the entire management of the place, La Casbah is now personalised with his own style, with strong accent on the mix of traditions with a very actual, contemporary result.

The Projects

The team of La Casbah also creates interior design projects. Yousfi explains: “we go and visit the clients’ house, then we create the design project and we provide up to three different estimates. The client chooses the one that best suits his budget then we get to work. We already have a vast portfolio of projects, including homes, chalets, restaurants and hotels around the area.” The showroom comprises everything from furniture for small apartments to big pieces to be displayed in majestic spaces of great proportions; and from decoration to art: “we work with a local art gallery, Yousfi adds, and we fit their paintings into our interior design projects.”
